On Day 3, we risked breakfast at the Canadian version of Denny's and then headed to Abraham lake, known for its frozen methane bubbles.  After a few stops along the Icefields Parkway on the way there, we arrived at the lake where we discovered that the water levels had dropped significantly as the lake froze, causing about a 100 drop, slanted down along the banks, from where we stood to the level at which the ice had frozen flat.  This meant we had to slide down, and eventually slide up, in order to reach our destination.

After returning to the car, we headed home but quickly found, as is often the case, that simply driving along the main road of the icefields parkway can lead to stunning views.
